About Us

Legal Aid Society, Campus Law Centre:

The Legal Aid Society of Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, working under the aegis of Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), aims to provide legal aid to the citizens who cannot afford professional legal services.  It also looks forward to championing those public causes for which adequate support is still lacking. The society has always been a rock-steady pillar of support for those who require legal assistance in any field of law. The progress made by the society in this arena has been due to the strenuous efforts put in by the students, professors, and lawyers who are inspired by the motto of NALSA- ‘Access to Justice for all’. Our cherished objectives include work on all fronts of the legal process, i.e. awareness, encouragement, and enforcement of the law.

The society is deeply committed towards its two main objectives; creating legal awareness and providing legal aid with the assistance of a lawyer at the Legal Services Clinic. The Legal Aid Society aims to disseminate legal information among those who cannot afford legal services, by way of legal literacy programs in and around campus in consonance with the provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987.

Legal Services Clinic, Campus Law Centre:

The Legal Services Clinic of Campus Law Centre was inaugurated on September 27, 2014 by Hon’ble Justice A.K. Sikri, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
The Clinic provides free legal advice and assistance to people belonging to different sections of society. The aim of the clinic is to ensure that litigants belonging to disadvantaged groups are guided correctly and honestly, free of cost.
The clinic provides legal aid through an advocate, appointed by the Central District Legal Services Authority, who is present at the clinic every Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Para-Legal Volunteers are also present during the clinic hours to assist the lawyer, to draft applications in certain matters, and to accompany the beneficiaries in their interaction with the officials. In the academic session 2018-19, the clinic received more than 65 legal queries. The society maintains a register of details of legal aid beneficiaries for regular follow-ups.
